33 and a Third

It’s Sunday morning, and Ronnie just woke up (9:30!!) and stumbled into my office. “Is Michael coming home today?”

“Yes,” I replied, “In fact he just called and wants you to call him back.” So Ronnie did and I can hear them arranging a game of Diablo. Ronnie’s side of the conversation:

“You want me to host, or you?”
“Should I be the Necromancer or the Druid”
“No, I’m next to Mommy’s computer. I’ll go to your computer.”
… more of the same.

Now he’s stumbled off to the next room to play, and he’s barely awake. Not even gone to the bathroom yet. Oh — I can hear Michael’s machine’s startup sound.

Yesterday morning, I was off shopping, leaving Ronnie at home with Reid sleeping. (”Now Ronnie, please let daddy sleep unless it’s REALLY important.) Reid later told me he heard the phone rining. Ronnie never picks up the phone, but he could hear Michael leaving a message on the answerer… “Ronnie!! Hey Ronnie, are you home?? Ronnie!!!!”. And Reid hears Ronnie reply, “Yeah!?” — without actually picking up the phone.

Funny - how Ronnie misses Michael. But it’s like he’s still here when they’re playing games. They’re still connected (ha, ha - get it?)

Yesterday, Ronnie told us he wants another Daddy. This in response to our discussion with Michael over which part of Christmas he’s spending with us, and which part he’s spending with his father. Ronnie would like another Daddy so he could have two Christmases. Reid and I agreed that I could go get another husband (whoo hoo!). But then we realized that it would give Michael 3(!) Daddies and Ronnie only 2. So in the end, Reid will have to get another wife. (I couldn’t very well not let him, now could I, if he was so magnanimous in letting me have another husband.)
